Manager/Senior Manager, Direct Tax

Responsibilities

Leading and managing engagements in relation to the provision of income tax compliance and advisory services to clients, including but not limited to the following:

  • Advising clients on the income tax implications and applicable treatment of their business transactions (e.g. new business arrangements, cross-border transactions) 
  • Assisting clients with the preparation, review, and e-filing of their income tax returns
  • Advising clients on tax structuring matters and conducting income tax due diligence reviews (typically in M&A situations)
  • Assisting clients in managing IRAS queries/audits
  • Assisting clients in seeking income tax rulings/clarifications from IRAS
  • Coaching other team members through sharing experience and knowledge appropriately

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Singapore corporate income tax experience preferably with an international accounting firm, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/reviewer role
  • Prior experience in individual income tax work
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields, with a professional qualification recognised by ISCA
  • Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP) (Income Tax) or higher, with SCTP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Working knowledge of a second language would be an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines

Senior/Assistant Manager, Direct Tax

Responsibilities

Support the Partner and Manager teams in servicing clients in relation to their tax needs in the area of income tax. Our income tax services include:

  • Assist clients with the preparation, review, and e-filing of their income tax returns (and organising the necessary information request flows, documentation, and research needs)
  • Assisting in fulfilment of clients’ income tax advisory needs in relation to their business transactions (e.g., new business arrangements, cross-border transactions)
  • Assist in fulfilment of clients’ income tax advisory needs on tax structuring matters and conducting income tax due diligence reviews (typically in Merger & Acquisition situations)
  • Assist clients in managing IRAS queries/audits
  • Assist clients in seeking income tax rulings/clarifications from IRAS
  • Assist clients with tax incentive application
  • Assist clients with tax risk management and control framework for corporate income tax (“CTRM”) review and application process
  • Develop strong relationships with our clients and with our colleagues, both internally and across the Baker Tilly International Network
  • Work with colleagues internally and across the globe in relation to proposals and delivering on tax projects
  • Provide support in relation to marketing activities such as seminars, webcasts, and business development collaterals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field
  • At least 3 to 4 years of Singapore income tax experience, preferably with an accounting or tax firm
  • Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP) (Income Tax) or higher,  with Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP), will be an added advantage
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong written/ verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to details
  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic

Associate, Direct Tax

Responsibilities

Assuming a supervisory/lead role in engagements in relation to the provision of income tax compliance and advisory services to clients, including but not limited to the following:

  • Advising clients on the income tax implications and applicable treatment of their business transactions (e.g. new business arrangements, cross-border transactions) 
  • Assisting clients with the preparation, review, and e-filing of their income tax returns
  • Advising clients on tax structuring matters and conducting income tax due diligence reviews (typically in M&A situations)
  • Assisting clients in managing IRAS queries/audits
  • Assisting clients in seeking income tax rulings/clarifications from IRAS

Assistant Manager/Manager, GST

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with the application of GST registration, exemption, and GST schemes
  • Assisting clients with the review and e-filing of their GST returns
  • Conducting GST health check reviews, GST due diligence reviews, Assisted Self Help Kit (ASK) reviews, Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews
  • Assisting clients in managing IRAS GST audits/investigations
  • Assisting clients in seeking GST rulings from IRAS

Requirements

  • Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, or any discipline or relevant professional qualification with at least 6 years of relevant GST experience preferably with an international accounting firm
  • A positive working attitude, meticulous, and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to multi-task and can work under pressure
  • Good oral communication and writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Preferably an accredited member of the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP), i.e. Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) (GST) or Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP) (GST)

You will be assisting the Managers (and above) in the provision of transfer pricing services to clients, including but not limited to the following:
